UX Design Lead, Google Assistant Team
Carla Echevarria is UX Design Lead of the Google Assistant team. Her role is to ensure a cohesive product strategy and help formulate a long-term vision for the Assistant. Her primary goal is to build responsible and ethical AI platforms that provide real value to people. Previously, she was a Design Lead at Facebook, where she was one of the primary inventors of Safety Check, Facebook's crisis response system. She was also the VP of Design for MakerBot, the leading company in desktop 3D printing. Carla teaches UX/UI Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
