DTX Europe 2019 announces headline keynote speaker line-up

Ex-MI6 Chief; the Godfather of Modern AI; the greatest chess player to have ever lived; one of the UK’s best-known mathematicians and one of the world’s most infamous hackers to take the stage at Digital Transformation EXPO Europe.

London, 27/08/19 – Digital Transformation EXPO Europe 2019 (DTX Europe – 9-10 October 2019, ExCeL, London) today announced its headline keynote speaker line-up, which contains some of the most renowned cyber security, AI, data science, and networks and infrastructure experts in the world.

Sir John Sawers

Often referred to as the real-life James Bond, the former Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) and decorated veteran will be sharing his vast knowledge from the front line.

He will share key insights based on his experience of defending the country against state sponsored-hacking, cyber terrorism, identifying threats in the current landscape, and what the next major trends are likely to be.

Garry Kasparov

Chess grandmaster and author Garry Kasparov first experienced the potential of AI during his famous matches against IBM’s supercomputer Deep Blue. Ever since, he has studied the evolution and implications of AI, he is also currently Avast’s security ambassador.

Kasparov will be talking about Ethics and Responsibility in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. What's more, after he gets off the stage, he will be playing several games of chess at the same time, against a selection of DTX visitors (and the clock!).

Dr Hannah Fry

You may recall Dr. Hannah Fry hitting the news recently after solving the mathematical equation ‘8/2(2+2) =? that sent the internet into turmoil. The Associate Professor in the Mathematics of Cities at UCL will talk about the differences between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, while examining why data scientists are trying to replicate elements of the human brain in AI systems.

Stuart Russell

After packing out the Keynote Theatre at IP EXPO 2017, Stuart Russell, the Godfather of Modern Artificial Intelligence, is back!

Using a Bayesian approach, Russell is a pioneer in the understanding and uses of AI, its long-term future and its relation to humanity. He literally wrote the book on modern AI, with 'Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach'. Senior AI figures at Google, Facebook and Microsoft have cited him as an inspiration.

His work has been cited by the NSA, triggered hearings on Capitol Hill, and has been the basis for security advancements across virtually all major web browsers, smartphones, and other technologies.

His session highlights the insecurities and vulnerabilities in everyday technologies, examples from his latest research and a live demonstration of how hackers can access your devices.
